Not many people are aware that washrooms in the workplace are governed by HSE regulations. Businesses are required by law to supply units and maintain washrooms to the highest standard for their staff.

The ‘Duty of Care’ Act requires correct management of all sanitary waste.
Waste disposal must only be carried out by waste carriers registered with the Environment and Heritage Service in Northern Ireland and Great Britain. A full audit trail of documentation must be available at all times.
